This confirms my suspicion that as a photographer I may like a subject rendered with every pore and wrinkle whereas the subject may not want to be reminded of the fading looks. Often best to back way off the programs presets and start from scratch with each subject.įortunately this is a younger woman and she said it was one of the best pictures taken of her. Not an easy task but it does simplify some actions. I also use it very sparingly and lightly too not appear too artificial. I use the program often with good results and some ladies really like the result and other do not. It was cropped from a 36Mpix landscape orientaion shot to a 13,6Mpix portrait shot VR does not help - people move all the time. I can see 400 ISO would have been more appropriate. when I checked the upload: the "after" shot demonstrates how pink is filled into shadows in the skin and how this effect does NOT allow a big print to be made - I may have overdone the effect - notwithstanding I was shooting at 800 ISO handheld. Surprisingly small improvemnts CAN be made to men - however not as dramatic as for the fairer sex! only minor improvemnts to men are possible - we are stunning raw and unaltered LOL is amazing - it is difficult to know when to stop the skin improvement, softening of shadows in wrinkles, filtering away blotchy or veined skin etc. the eye improvements are stunning - I rarely get light onto the iris - a pro would accomplish this during the shoot - I fix in PP the PP allows conservation of skin structure, but close up it may look unnatural anyway - check if this is going to be a postershot! a 36Mpix sensor that they have wrinkled, hairy noses

I always check if hair and skin have been identified correctly. It usually fails on automatic with profile or half profile shots I have disabled automatic face recognition - the PP instead promps for outer corners of eyes, mouth and nosetip. Additionally there is a master slider to adjust all effects in a group up and down. It feels like it is 10 times as fast.ġ) I develop the few raw files I need in Lightroom - then save to 16bit tiff and open them in Portrait Professional Studio 64 v11.Ģ) I get praise from the fairer sex among friends & family - they quite like the results!Įvery major program feature has a handy big, green radio button that can swith the feature on/off wholesale. The trial version, cheap version is soooo slooow - I got the most expensive 64bit version.
